Research Interests:

The main research interest of MDIPL is to understand the molecular mechanisms of chronic inflammatory diseases including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, asthma and COPD. Research activities in MDIPL strive to understand the inflammatory cascade at the initiation as well as progression level by utilizing both in-vitro and in-vivo experimental models. We study these mechanisms at molecular and cellular levels utilizing advanced biochemical, molecular, cellular and immunological techniques. We strive to perform translational research aimed at identifying new biomarkers for different disease and help identify and develop mechanism-based nontoxic anti-inflammatory therapy for clinical intervention.
